This story is about two ghost hunters. It seems to be the Victorian Era. It’s well written, if at times long on descriptive terms. Although it touches on a bit of repetition when describing the fear felt by the two seekers, it’s great suspense and spooky without being gory or sexual. Blackwood was masterful at allowing the reader to experience those crazy emotions that occur with a true encounter with the supernatural. Wonderful ghost story.
