If you can cast your mind back to the glory days of 70's Disco, you'll remember that most of the music was played by real musicians who, for the most part, were more talented than most 'so called' artists who have a top 40 hit today. Most of todays Dance Music is produced without any thought to 'musical integrity'. Techno, Trance, Drum & Bass, Big Beat etc. it all got so stale and lifeless....thump..thump..thump..thump..I demand more from my Dance Music, and Music in general. That's why I find the Jazz in the House collection such a breath of fresh air. All of the music has it's roots deeply imbedded in the early house music of the late 80's and early 90's and has undeniably strong ties to classic 'Disco".The tunes are wonderfully mastered and worked...with many live overdubs and performances that enhance strong dance/soul/jazz/latin/funk beats. It's a great mix of the old and the new in many cases drawing from the early days of the 'Jazz Funk' movement of the 70's.This style of music pays homage to the musician. It brings us back to a time when electronica did not rule the Dance Floors, a time when Disco was played, not produced.
