In this 1929 crime drama movie, an inventor's wife kills someone and her husband takes the responsibility, being sent to prison for many years. When the husband is released, the husband wants to resume his family life but decides he won't disrupt his wife's and daughters new life of living off of the husbands invention royalties. The wife did not tell their daughter about his imprisonment so his wife and he pretends he’s a longtime friend of the family who knew her husband who is dead. Another similar murder is committed and it again looks like the husband is going to take the wrap for this one as well. This movie isn't one where you don't know who the killer is but a movie of understanding why people might protect others and assume responsibilities for the penalty of another person’s crime. I enjoyed the movie plot which moved along well and I thought the acting was pretty good.
