The House at 758 By Kathryn Berla5 StarsShe has done it again, what a book, I loved everything about this story..The flow, the style, the storyline. This author reels you in from the very first word and doesn’t let go even after the story ends. This is my third book by this author and I can't say enough about how much I love reading her books.This was about a 16 year old girl, Krista who is trying to find a way past the grief and guilt from the loss of her mother. On top of these feelings she is mad at her dad because he has moved on and she misses when they were both in the same place mentally. She is obsessed with a house in a not so great part of town, she just sits and watches this house. She doesn’t go a day without thinking about it or driving by it, even when she is threatened with being arrested.When a boy from school treats her like a real person, instead of being afraid she will shatter like glass, she agrees to spend some time with him and is so excited for what feels like the first time in forever. I loved Jake in this story, his part was written beautifully. Even when she pushed him away it was like you could tell he was still there, giving her time. When her grandpa comes to visit and she has been handed the task of taking care of him he tells her a story that helps her in so many ways. I loved loved loved her grandpa and the relationship these two were able to form. Can she finally get past what happened and deal with her grief and guilt, and start living again?Many many thanks to this author for another fantastic story, and for another subtle twist that I never even picked up on. Her books always touch me, they are so creatively written and are unlike any others. She is definitely at the top of my one click author's list!!
