I have several of these clocks. This clock pictured as well as many others are wind up, not battery operated. You can tell by the hole (for the key) in place of the number 6 on the face of the clock. The battery operated clock shows the number 6. Also, the wind up clock has the girl on a spring that bounces up and down. The battery operated clock, the girl swings back and forth. Look very close before buying.
