Description

After a life-changing paranormal experience, Alice Jackson has refused to spend another night in her own home. Looking for answers she opened her house up to investigators who have conducted the first-ever, decade long paranormal investigation. Who or what is haunting her home? A beautiful documentary telling the real story of a homeowner, and the team looking for answers that will get Alice back into her house. This film is not only scary, but it’s also a thought-provoking look at what it’s like to live with a haunting. Bridging the paranormal, real science and the human experience this documentary shows a detailed look at what could be the most haunted house in America. Film by Steve Gonsalves and Kendall Whelpton

If you're looking for spooky, frightening and massive amounts of evidence, forget it. This movie isn't for you.If you're looking for an interesting investigation into a house that goes beyond using gadgets people claim detect ghosts, but since no one knows what ghosts are even made of --or if they're even real-- how do we know what to use to measure their activity, this investigation factors in other options.Steve Gonsalves is involved but is not the primary investigator. As he said on the "Haunt Jaunts" podcast, this case came to his attention and he decided to check it out. He brought a lot of questions to a variety of experts not normally consulted on most ghost hunting shows, including contractors and physicists. As he said in the Haunt Jaunts interview, he really wanted a geologist but couldn't find one willing to go on record. Thanks to the input of the experts, he did debunk some commonly held paranormal theories as well as validated a couple of others.Another interesting revelation in the Haunt Jaunts podcast was the use of the psychic. Steve isn't opposed to them but he didn't really want to use one. However, the one they did use doesn't charge or work for a fee, and they took a lot of precautions not revealing the house to her --or even where the house was-- until the car pulled up in front of it. She didn't even fly into the state where the house was. And yet...she had some interesting and chilling revelations of her own. For me, that was one of the most pivotal moments.Am I convinced the ball rolling means anything? No. The expert about that explained how easy it would be to make a ball roll down the stairs on its own. However, it is a curious phenomenon. So are the doors opening. I'd like to know more about the wind flow in the house and maybe do another investigation showing what the weather outside is doing when the doors open. Not sure how dead bolt locked doors open but...they seem to in Alice's house. It is an interesting place and the fact Alice makes it so accessible for investigators really might help prove something over time.If you're looking for a more intellectual, thoughtful approach to ghost hunting, this movie is for you. If you're into the demons and scares and that's what draws you into ghost hunting shows? Nope. Pass on this one. It will be a giant let down for you.
