I liked that it saved space.Nice pet enclosure could be a little better with directions but not bad.Little hard for me to put together but it looks greatThe product is decent, I’m still using it currently but looking for a better one. The tray at the bottom has too much of a gap so my tort just ends up pushing substrate out of the crack and onto the floor. The other issue I had was the assembly, wasn’t easy…whoever put the hinges on the lid before shipping it to me put them on backwards, not to mention there are no holes ready for the screws so for someone like me who is not handy you end up cracking the wood a tad bit in the process. But overall it is just okay. For the money it is decent. I chose this one because of the removable drawer and I'm pleased with that choice. The materials are very lightweight, that's not a compliment. I'm sure that is to keep the cost down and shipping weight down. Assembly was easy FOR ME but I can see it frustrating some people. For example, mine didn't have pilot holes for the screws, not sure if that is normal. What that means is that YOU have to line up the parts and screw them in straight otherwise the walls will be crooked. If the walls are crooked the drawer may not slide in and out smoothly because your rectangular box looks like a trapezoid. I used a square, level, and a pencil to make sure it all lined up. I also drilled pilot holes in ALL BUT THE FIRST SPOT BEFORE trying to screw it together. Let me explain, the first screw went in without a pilot hole and I noticed the thin wood starting to crack. I stopped, backed the screw out and drilled a pilot hole to prevent further damage. Complete, it seems to hold together fairly well. I plan to add a few finishing nails in a few spots to reinforce it. I think this is decent for the price and we shall see how long it holds up. I have 2 tortoises that will live in it on a covered patio. It is on the ground for now but I think it will look better, last longer, and be easier to maintain if I elevate it. For me this is a solid 3 stars, anyone that gives this 5 has low expectations IMHO. PRO TIP - for substrate I use wood chips from the hardware store. They are 1/4 the price of the pet shop. If they seem too dusty for your liking you can rinse them with water and dry before using, but my tortoises don't seem to care, they are from a dusty place after all.Definitely not strong enough for a large tortoise. Was hoping this would be a good set up - but the plastic was completely scratched (by the tortoise), within minutes, and the build is far less sturdy than I had hoped. The openings are pretty small so I had to remove that piece from it's frame. Tops don't line up perfectly, and the light hanger prevents opening the lid all the way. I'm disappointed. Do not buy for a large tortoise.I have to say, for the price, this is pretty good. However, there are a couple flaws. The sliding bottom tray has pretty large gaps, so the substrate definitely comes out. The wood could definitely be sturdier, but as long as you're careful you should be okay. Putting it together was pretty fast and painless. My 3 year old redfooted tortoise seems pretty good with my purchase!
