Our son was thrilled to be a ninja for halloween. This was the first year he's been able to really pick his own costume and this piece did the trick for him. While it was time consuming to put on (for a 5 yr old) once he was dressed he was happy as he could be. The material is a very thin nylon/poly blend, so if you live in a colder climate, (Like us in Minnesota) you will want to layer warm clothes under the costume. If you intend to layer, don't worry about ordering a bigger size; the costume is pretty forgiving and even if it is "bulky" kids will enjoy pretending the bulk are strong ninja muscles. Our son's snow boots fit well under the legs of the costume, too, so ultimately keeping your little person warm while trick or treating (and not spoiling the look of their costume by having to wear a a bunch of outerwear) is fairly easy. our only problem was with the hems unraveling in the hood and the velcro closure coming off entirely which made the hood useless the night we needed it. I was able to fix the issues later, but for the big day, our son had to make due with a rigged mask. Overall, though, it is a pretty good costume for the price. Can't beat it.This is one of those super cheapy costumes made out of that thin, shiny material. On the one hand, the price at the moment is great and makes it a better deal - 12 dollars - but I think I paid more for it. What I really don't like is that the head part - the most important part - is actually two pieces. One is a kind of a hood, which is fine and stays on, but the part that covers the face is just a piece of material, like a scarf, and it has to be somehow tied at the back of the head to keep it on. But it doesn't stay on. A few stitches would have solved that problem, and I guess I could do that myself, but it's still annoying. The rest of the costume is fine other than just being really cheap. It looks pretty much like in the picture. It doesn't come with a sword, though, which was disappointing for my 4 year old (even though I told him it didn't and he already has other swords). Overall it's OK if you pay the cheap price, but it's nothing great.I ordered the small for my son who wears 4t-5t. Fits great, pants a little on long side, fine with shoes on. It came with 2 black straps, one for face and we used the other to wrap around his waist. It also is able to hold his sword. It came with 5 red straps that we used on his legs and arms. The black hood is NOT ATTACHED to the shirt as indicated but it does have velcro tabs under the chin to hold it in place so it was no big deal. For under $10 bucks, this is perfect for my son. The material is on the thin side but if you are worried about your little guy being cold, just put a black shirt underneath.I bought this costume for my 5.6 years old boy, he was supposed to wear at the haloween party in the school. The material of the costume is very thin, so he wore the costume over his regular dress. Because there were lots of red ribbons supplied with the costume, I sewed the red pieces of cloth as shown in the picture over his sleeves and pants. I also had to sew to adjust his mask. Overall a good experience, the cloth is thin but durable. My son loved this costume, and he was also one of the winners for the costume party..I gave this as a Christmas gift to a 3-year-old great-grandson last night. He was so excited, he wanted to put it right on. The only thing I saw that was a problem was that the facial cloth was made from the same, slick material as the rest of the costume and it kept sliding down from his face and this made him unhappy. Its perfect and comfy. I only had to put a couple of stitches (on the back of the legs and arms)on the red ribbons so they wouldn't be falling down every single time. The hood is also an independent piece, I didn't do anything about it this time. The kids loved it. Wearing jeans was a no no, They had to wear sweatpants under it so it could fit nicely.Perfect fit for my 6 year old. He wears this costume at least few times a week.My son (3.5 and in a small) loves this costume and it has had tons of wear, but it is also somewhat frustrating. The red ties fall off easily and the mouth covering is just one long tie, and, you guessed it, falls off easily. We actually put a few stitches in it to keep it on and that has worked well. This costume isn't deluxe, but if you are adding it in the dress-up rotation, it holds up just fine.Average I have to say. My daughter wanted a PINK ninja and this was the cheapest so I bought this to add pink to it. It is a bit naff. I would pay a quid or 2 more and get a better one.excellent value for the price..i doubt it will wear well but my little boy was happy as larry going off to school for world book day as a ninja. he looked great !This costume was ok for dress up I suppose. But the quality is very poorly made, and the fabric very flimsy. Also there's all the bands to wrap around the arms and legs every time they wear it.Good value for money for a child who loves ninjas! On the wanted list for another child who has since borrowed it!Great little costume for budding Ninja's with healthy imaginations. My son hasn't wore it yet as its a Xmas pressie but from what I can tell without seeing it on its just what he asked for.
