After the slightly weaker efforts of series 3, Man about the House returns to top form in this excellent release.As usual, Richard O'Sullivan is a happy & energetic lead; his bubbling enthusiasm lifts the mood of the show an extra notch. The sharp Chrissy (Paula Wilcox) and ditzy Jo (Sally Thomsett) also play their parts to perfection. In addition, less Larry and a little more of the George & Mildred characters help to balance out the stories without abandoning the initial premise.Series 4 contains some classic 'MATH' episodes including the driving lesson (involving 'beans, beans, chunky chicken' and a wonderful court scene) and George's wig.In these days of alternative, post-watershed, disfunctional family sitcoms, it's a real treat to sit down to something unashamedly simple and funny that the whole family can watch. Highly recommended to those who enjoy a good laugh.
