As a playset: 5/5As a source of parts: 5/5 (Especially at on-sale price)As a learning experience: 3/5Like most of the Friends line sets I've purchased, this one is an excellent play set. It comes with Emma, both her parents, and a pet bird, and the house has a front yard with walkway and garden, a pond, a birdhouse and 6 rooms (living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, attic, and rooftop patio). each room of the can be detached from the others (this is a very deliberate part of the design). While this does allow the house's layout to be customized to an extent, I believe that, as a playset, this allows each room to be played with separately from the rest. I will say that, although the build isn't too complicated, there are a few points in the build that have a lot of room for error or are fragile for a few steps (don't worry though! The finished model is very sturdy!)On the other hand, if you (or the recipient of this set) are like me and love designing buildings and houses out of Lego, this is a great set to get (especially at its current sale price of $48!!). It comes with plenty of large plates and wall panels for quickly building up a structure, and it includes 3 DIFFERENT uncommon window frame pieces, with at least 2 of each of them. The stickered vanity mirror in the bedroom really works AND is, unlike most mirrored parts and stickers, completely generic so you can use it in any sort of model! To make it even better, this set includes a motherload of pieces in light lavendar - A VERY uncommon color in general, especially as the core color for a larger set. In general with this set you get a wide range of parts that any builder will appreciate, and you could make a ton of cool things with this alone. The only aspect where I think this set is below-awesome is the build itself. Let me be clear, this is NOT a bad build by any means! I just didn't find many new or innovative building techniques. However, I don't think that was this set's goal so I can't really hold it against it to much. I'm also a very experienced builder, which might influence my perception here.Check out the top of the review for my overall scores for this set! I definitely recommend it.My 12 year old daughter is a huge fan of the Lego Friends collection. She has been asking for this set for quite some time now. Once we received the order she could not wait to put it together. It took several hours to complete the project on her own. The directions were very easy to follow and I like how the required pieces for several steps are included with numbered bags. This allows you to easily locate pieces instead of searching through the entire set. I love the attention to detail that this house contains with windows that can open and a sliding glass door. This was great addition to her Lego collection. My 11-year old granddaughter just loves this. She thought it was discontinued. She even shopped the Lego Store and they said it was discontinued. This was her #1 Wish List Gift and was absolutely delighted when she got it. If Rachel is happy, Nana is happy - so thank you Amazon for making a young lady's Christmas extra special. My daughter is a huge lego fan. She loves the detail of this house as it has appliances that open and chairs that recline. There is an art easel with paints for the lego figurine. This is a plus, because my daughter loves art. I am very impressed with the amount of detail of this lego set. We put it together as a family and it was so much fun. Love this set and would recommend to girls ages 7 and up.Fun to build (for an adult), with several clever architecture/design elements not seen in previous sets. Always good to get some adult minifigures, especially a male, for the Friends ecosystem. Wish it were more playable for the kiddos, for whom these sets are meant, but this factor will vary from family to family. Our daughter loves legos! She’s been building them for years now and they’ve never gone wrong. The instructions are simple enough she can play on her own. We are always excited to see the new features in each box.My 7 year old Lego expert grandson couldn't resist the kit after saying he hadn't any interest in "Friends stuff".....he and the 4 year old ended up cooking in the kitchen. Just the right difficulty and a nice modern appearance with working doors and windows. No steps, too bad. Maybe a few too many flowerpots for guys but at least it is lavender, not pink.My 9 yr old daughter loves Lego Friends. She was super excited when she opened this gift. She worked very hard on it and even let her 4 yr old brother help. They had a blast putting it together and then playing with it! There are a LOT of little pieces and we used tupperware containers to keep them all in one place, much easier for keeping track of the pieces. My 11 year old daughter enjoyed the build and plays with it as part of her ever growing Friends collection. I really like the Friends theme from LEGO but wish they would bring the pricing more in line with the other themes.BIG hit at our house! My girls (ages 6 and 9) love Emma's house - spent a whole rainy weekend putting it together. They use it with other pieces they have and are slowly planning out an entire Lego village in our basement. The attention to detail with the entire Lego friends line of building toys is amazing! Now this is amazing Lego! The price was not bad as Lego goes, and it provides countless hours of pure joy. Finally more realistic ( not people who are square and unreal looking) Lego that appeals more to girls. We love all the Lego "Friends" Lego and hope they make more.Daughter likes it. Beautifully designed, with openable windows, slide doors, rotatable TV, must have set.Another excellent addition to my friends collection!
